Zippit
Pro terms.
Last updated October 5, 2026
1. About these terms
These Pro Terms apply to you if you offer services on Zippit as a pro. They add to our Terms of Service, which also apply to you; where the two differ for pros, these Pro Terms win. You accept them when you create your pro account, and you confirm them when you accept our pricing terms during onboarding. Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect from pros and who sees it.
2. You run your own business
You are an independent business, not an employee, agent or partner of Zippit. You decide whether to accept each job offered to you, when you make yourself available, and how you do the work. You supply your own tools, vehicle and materials, and you are free to work for other customers and platforms. Nothing in these terms creates an employment relationship.
3. Getting approved and staying approved
Before you can take jobs, you need to:
- verify your phone number;
- pass a photo ID check run by Stripe Identity (a government ID and a live selfie);
- for handyman (contractor) work, upload proof of general liability insurance;
- for work California law says needs a license - such as electrical, plumbing, heating and air conditioning, and pest control - give us a current California license. We check contractor licenses with the Contractors State License Board and compare the name on the license with your ID check. You are only offered those jobs while a valid license for that trade is on file, and if your license covers more than one trade you may be offered jobs in each of them; and
- be reviewed and approved by the Zippit team.
Keep your documents current and tell us straight away if your license or insurance lapses or changes. We do not currently run criminal background checks; if we start, we will ask for your separate consent first and give you the disclosures the law requires.
4. Jobs and prices
- Zippit sets the price of each service. You see what you will earn on a job before you accept it.
- Only accept jobs you are qualified, licensed where required, and insured to do, and that you can attend at the booked time.
- If a job needs more or less work than booked, propose a new price in the app with a reason and a photo. It only applies if the customer approves it, and it can be at most 25% more than the original price - bigger changes need a new booking. Don’t ask customers to pay you directly.
- If you haven’t arrived 30 minutes after the scheduled start, the customer can cancel for a full refund and you are not paid for that job. Repeated no-shows can lead to your account being suspended.
5. Fees and getting paid
Zippit keeps a platform fee of 10% of the price of each job you complete; you earn the rest, including your share of any price change the customer approves. We pay your earnings for completed jobs to your Stripe account, and Stripe sends them to your bank on your Stripe payout schedule. If a customer is refunded for a job - for example after a dispute that shows the work wasn’t done as booked - we may deduct the refunded amount from your earnings.
Payment processing services for pros on Zippit are provided by Stripe and are subject to the Stripe Connected Account Agreement, which includes the Stripe Terms of Service (collectively, the “Stripe Services Agreement”). By agreeing to these Pro Terms or continuing to operate as a pro on Zippit, you agree to be bound by the Stripe Services Agreement, as the same may be modified by Stripe from time to time. As a condition of Zippit enabling payment processing services through Stripe, you agree to provide Zippit accurate and complete information about you and your business, and you authorize Zippit to share it and transaction information related to your use of the payment processing services provided by Stripe.
You are responsible for your own taxes. We or Stripe may issue tax forms, such as a Form 1099, where the law requires it.
6. Customers’ information, your location and directions
Use a customer’s name, address, photos and messages, and the Zippit number you call them on, only to do the job they booked. Don’t contact them for anything else, share their details, or keep them longer than you need to.
The Zippit Pro app needs your precise location while you use it. When you tap “I’m on my way”, your live location is shared with that job’s customer until you start the job, as described in our Privacy Policy.
The app shows your route to each job and how long it should take, using Apple Maps. Road signs and traffic laws always come before its directions, and don’t handle your phone while driving. YOUR USE OF THIS REAL TIME ROUTE GUIDANCE APPLICATION IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK. LOCATION DATA MAY NOT BE ACCURATE.
7. Messages and conduct
Section 7 of the Terms of Service applies to you in full. There is zero tolerance for objectionable or abusive content and behaviour, in chat with customers and everywhere else on Zippit. Customers can report a conversation or block you from the chat screen, and so can you. We review every report within 24 hours, remove content that breaks the rules, and suspend or remove pros who break them.
8. Insurance and responsibility for your work
If you do handyman work, keep general liability insurance in force while you take those jobs; we stop offering them if it lapses. You are responsible for the work you do and for any damage or injury you cause, and you agree to indemnify Zippit against claims arising from your work, your breach of these terms, or your violation of any law or license requirement.
9. Suspension and leaving Zippit
We may suspend or remove your pro account if you break these terms or the Terms of Service, if your ID, license or insurance can’t be verified or lapses, if you put anyone at risk, or for fraud or repeated no-shows. Where we can, we’ll tell you why and give you a chance to respond. You can stop taking jobs or delete your account at any time; earnings already owed for completed jobs will still be paid.
10. Changes and contact
We may update these Pro Terms the same way as the Terms of Service: we’ll post changes here with a new date and tell you about material changes before they take effect. Questions? team@zippit.casa.
